| Jidaigura Kanro Genshu Gold Medal 91 points |
|| Tasting comments from America's BTI judge Clear with a nickel cast. Exotically rich toasted caramelized nut, date bread, and custard aromas follow through to a slightly sweet, slightly tannic full body with deep waves of dried apple, pears, banana creme brulee, wintermint, sandalwood, and five spice. Finishes with a long peppery sweet fade and evolving layer of nuttiness and fruit. |
|| Manager's Comments By brewing carefully selected Kotobuki sweet potatoes with black malt, the original flavor of the ingredients is completely extracted, creating a characteristic rich and mellow taste that is perfect mixed with hot water. This product is best served mixed with hot water, on the rocks or straight according to preference.

| Heihachiro Gold Medal 90 points |
|| Tasting comments from America's BTI judge Clear with a silvery cast. Brown sugar, malt-o-meal, toasted nut, mineral, and baked date aromas. A round, satiny entry leads to a dryish medium body of pure tapioca, white nut, goat's milk custard, and peppery spice. Finishes with a vibrant mineral dust, mintgum, and mild pink peppercorn fade. Great intensity and purity.

|| Manager's Comments This authentic potato shouchu gets its strength of character from a man called Heihachiro Oshio, who in the 5th year of the Tempo Period (1834) stood up to the government's misrule in order to help the needy during a time of great famine. Our specially selected Miyazaki Beni Kotobuki sweet potatoes are brewed with black malt to produce this fragrant shouchu, which overflows with a highly individual flavor and quality. Heihachiro, imbued with the authentic spirit of a brewery founded in the Tempo Period, is the connoisseur's choice. |
