This shouchu is called “Taito”, which means “The Great Authority”. The buckwheat is brewed carefully grain by grain via traditional large cask brewing methods to extract both the sweet aroma and light taste of the buckwheat.Oriental folklore tells us of the Sennin, an immortal race who lived as a hermits in the mountains. It is said that the Sennin once visited the world of mortal men, riding in vehicles known as a Houga. When drinking this shouchu, we hope that your imagination is ignited with the delectable taste of the buckwheat, and that you feel like the Sennin, an immortal amongst mortals. When mixed with soba water (water containing powdered buckwheat) the great taste of this shouchu gets even better.
